I spent a peaceful afternoon people watching at Qarun Lake in the Fayoum Oasis, which is less than a 2 hour drive southwest of Cairo, Egypt and west of the Nile. Qarun Lake is considered to be one of the oldest natural lakes in the world and is the second largest lake in Egypt.
