Bull Elk in Velvet Grazing by the Road I

Description

As I was driving on Highway 34 in Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado early one morning, I was pleased to see this young bull elk, with velvet still on his antlers, who was too busy grazing to be concerned that I had stopped to photograph him from the inside of my car. Highway 34, also know as Trail Ridge Road, is the highest continuously paved road in the United States, and reaches and elevation of 12, 183 feet, or 665 meters, at its peak.
